Simple patterns may seem silly at times, but the simple skills-built learning to seam straight, practicing the small details until you perfect your skills IS A SKILL IN ITSELF.
Nobody’s first project turns out perfect. Nobody’s first zipper has a perfectly strait top stitch.
But, number 3 will be close, number 5 will be something they are ready to show off to everyone they know.
Sewing doesn’t just teach your child to sew, it teaches them not to quit. It teaches them that even if you don’t do as well as you hoped on your first try that continuing to try will give you the experience and improve your skills. This lesson transfers to every aspect of life.
