Pencil pouch

These cute little pencil pouches are a great beginner sew and such a fun way to store your pencils and pens. The schoolhouse fabric line would really be perfect for these but mix it up and go another way if you want a different look.

Supplies needed for this project.

  • 1/4 yard outer fabric

  • 1/4 yard inner fabric

  • 1/4 yard batting OR interfacing (she uses batting but a medium weight interfacing provides a little more structure if you prefer that. If you plan to store sewing supplies like scissors versus pencils I highly suggest interfacing.

  • A zipper!!

  • As always thread

  • A fresh sewing machine needle

  • Your machine!

Again, this is a project that adding an extra zipper or two allows for making 2-3 of them. Gift some or use them to sort your different supplies.

Add an extra touch by adding a tag or hand embroidering a name on the exterior piece before assembling the bag.
